Darlington's, the Vauxhall based speciality coffee supplier plans to expand its foodservice coffee supply business in conjunction with its new owner Bewley's which has acquired the business for an undisclosed sum.
Operating since the early 90s, Darlington's is a successful and growing business, with annual sales of approximately Stg £4.5m, supplying high quality fresh coffees and coffee service equipment along with barista training to long standing customers in the hotels, restaurants, cafes and catering sector, in Greater London, the Midlands and the southern counties. The Darlington's name will not change and the deal will see Darlington's management and staff being retained.
Established in 1840, Bewley's is the market leader in the fresh coffee foodservice and retail sectors in Ireland and is one of the largest coffee roasters in the British Isles. The company is renowned for its iconic Bewley's Cafè on Dublin's Grafton Street which opened in 1927 and serves over 1 million customers annually. Bewley's also has coffee roasting, distribution and cafè operations in the US, principally in Boston and Sacramento, California.
